NCCN Campaign in USA
Thursday 02nd of August 2007 [ ???????, ???? १७, २०६४ ]

General Secretary of the National Council of Churches of Nepal (NCCN) Dr. K.B. Rokaya visited USA from 20 June  to 18 July 07 to campaign for smooth continuation of the peace process in Nepal and establishment of full democracy, human rights and religious freedom.

 

This campaign was connected with the invitation to Dr. Rokaya by the United Church of Christ, USA to

participate in their General Assembly which was held in Hartford, CT. During the assembly Dr. Rokaya was awarded by The Global Ministries (of the United Church of Christ and Disciples of Christ) for his contribution in promoting peace, justice and religious cooperation in Nepal.

 

During his stay in USA, Dr. Rokaya visited other parts of USA to share about the political situation and role of the Church in Nepal in order to give a true picture of the overall situation in the country.

The highlight of these meetings was meeting with high level officials of the Department of Religious Freedom, US State Department and the Meeting with the authorities of Messiah College, PA including the president of the college.  He also met with various groups and individuals in Dallas, Texas, Baltimore and Washington DC

 

 

A joint award of The Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and the United Church of Christ (UCC), two major Church Denominations in USA, provided to NCCN General Secretary Dr. K.B. Rokaya for his role of uniting Churches in Nepal and leading them to work for peace, justice and equitable society
